Question
What is the Location Accuracy Threshold? Does it improve location accuracy?
Answer
The setting Location Accuracy Threshold is used to remove outliers or any inaccurate locations. It does not affect the actual location accuracy that the Pawfit tracker reports.
When GPS signal is weak, Pawfit uses the so-called A-GPS by combining nearby cell towers and WiFi signal to approximate your pet's location, the accuracy of this can range from a few metres to several kilometres. By setting it to 100m, it can remove inaccurate/misleading locations while keeping the optimal ones. Depending what the situation is, those less optimal locations could sometimes give you an idea of the whereabouts of your pet. If it is set to 10m, it would remove all the A-GPS points but just keep the GPS locations. In that case, you can only expect the location to be updated when your pet is outdoors with strong GPS signal.
To access Location Accuracy Threshold, please go to Profile > User Profile > Settings > Map where you will see the Location Accuracy Threshold slider.
