Symptoms
My Pawfit is not updating as frequently as it should. I left my house with my dog half an hour ago, but it is still showing he is at home.
Resolution
[How Pawfit works]
The Pawfit tracker uses GPS to track locations and sends over the tracking data via mobile phone network. For information please visit: What location tracking technologies does Pawfit use?
[location update frequency]
During passive mode (without user intervention), Pawfit refreshes your pet's location in between every 30 seconds and 2 hours, depending on the activity level of your pet and the availability of GPS and phone signal. For more information please visit: How often does the location update?
If your tracker has only been switched on before leaving the house, it could be in cold start which would result in longer time to get the initial GPS fix. Please wait for your tracker to return to strong GPS or use live tracking before starting your walk. Please refer to the following article for more information: Why does tracker sometimes take less time to get strong GPS but sometimes longer when outdoors?
[Enable find mode to correct it]
If you'd like receive the most up-to-date location update, or pin-point exactly where your pet has been, please try find mode. During find mode, the tracker refreshes your pet's location every 5 seconds. It also forces the GPS module to stay active for 10 minutes, maximising the chance of getting a GPS fix in challenging situations. For more information please visit: What is find mode and how do I enable it?
[Provide Device ID]
