Yes. More specifically, Pawfit 1, Pawfit-S and Pawfit 2 require a good GPRS (2G/GSM) phone signal to send and receive data. Pawfit 3 requires 4G and Pawfit 3s requires LTE-M. Without a phone signal, you would not be able to activate your tracker, receive any tracking information, or operate the tracker.
