Symptoms
My tracker has alerted me that my dog has left the safety zone but it is actually charging at home/my dog is actually in the house.
Resolution
Because GPS only works in open space with a clear view of the sky, any obstacles between the satellites and the tracker can have an impact on the accuracy. When the tracker is indoors, the tracker may receive partial reflected GPS signal or no signal at all, either may result in a significant reduction of the location accuracy. For more information of positioning technologies that Pawfit uses and their limitations, please visit: What location tracking technologies does Pawfit use and their limitations?
If the safety zone size is too small, you may be alerted with false alarms. Ultimately, this is not a limitation of Pawfit, but more related to the general tracking technologies by using GPS. We recommend to our customers to keep the minimum radius of a safety zone as 100 metres to avoid any false alarms. Please refer to this link for how to edit a safety zone:
How can I edit or add a safety zone?
Furthermore, to improve the indoor tracking accuracy, we provide the Home WiFi feature. By using home WiFi, it should give you a more accurate location when the tracker is within the range of the home WiFi. Please refer to this link for setting up a home WiFi. How do I create or edit my home WiFi?
If you would like to receive the most up-to-date location update, or a more accurate location of where your pet is, please enable the live tracking mode. Please click this following link for more information of how to use live tracking: What is live tracking and how do I enable it?
