Symptoms
The distance measured during a walk is not accurate, what can I do?
Resolution
The distance that your dog has travelled is calculated by connecting all GPS readings that the tracker sends over. The more often the location is updated, the closer the route is to the actual. For example, if your pet is running at a fast pace and changes direction numerous times in a zig-zag motion, the total distance may be slightly less than the actual distance travelled by your pet.
If you would like the tracker to update more often, you could turn on live tracking during the walk. During live tracking, the tracker updates your dog’s location every 5 seconds. This is the most frequent location update rate that Pawfit provides. Please refer to this article to enable live tracking. What is live tracking and how do I enable it?
Causes
- The tracker isn't refreshing the location fast enough to catch up the pet's movement;
- No GPS signal available;
- Device not switched on;
- Poor phone signal.
