A device update is a software package that is used to update the firmware run in your Pawfit tracker. It is different from an App update which is used to update the Pawfit App on your mobile phone.

Once you choose to update your device, an update package will be downloaded to your Pawfit tracker. Depending on the size of the package and network status, this download process can take up to 40 minutes to complete. Once the update package is downloaded, the device will then install this update. After the update is installed, the device will restart automatically. If you hear the welcome sound, it indicates the update was successful.

We roll out updates and new features from time to time. When there is a firmware update available, you will be prompted through the App to download and install it.* You can check the latest firmware version of your tracker at Profile > Your pet’s profile > Tracker settings >Tracker update. If automatic updates are enabled, your tracker will download and install these updates automatically while on charge. This feature is enabled by default but can be switched off by heading to Profile > Your pet’s profile > Tracker settings >Tracker update > Automatic updates.
